Book your wedding date for the flowers and discuss if you wish, which seasonal flowers are available. You can bring in swatches and pictures if this helps you. Come into one of our shops and ask for the 'Wedding Consultant', Book your reception venue and caters / band / disco. Start deciding what you are going to wear and plan well ahead if your dress, shoes, bridesmaids' dresses etc, are being made. Decide upon and book your honeymoon to avoid disappointment. Consider taking out an insurance policy, against possible disasters such as your dress being damaged or the pictures not coming out. 5 MONTHS TO GO.... Book car, especially if you want something unusual. Book the professional photographer or video company. Window shop to get ideas for gift list. 4 MONTHS TO GO......... Confirm arrangement with the person who is performing your ceremony and decide what service you will have and how you will decorate the venue. Order your stationery - invitation/service sheets/printed serviettes/place cards, etc... Buy those all important wedding ring(s). Decide upon your menu with the help of your caterers. 3 MONTHS TO GO...... Confirm your register office booking. Finalise your honeymoon plans and make sure you get visas and vaccinations sorted. If you have booked your honeymoon under your married name you will have to change your name on your passport so that it matches all your travel documents. Book your first night at the hotel. Take a trip to a hairdresser you know you can trust to discuss and experiment with styles. Place your wedding gift list with the store or stores of your choice. 2 MONTHS TO GO..... Send out your invitations. Make a note of acceptances and refusals. Choose the presents for the attendants, best man, bridesmaids and both of the mothers. Go and party and have the best stag and hen do imaginable. 1 MONTH TO GO....... Confirm details of your wedding flowers. Chase up late invitation replies and finalise the guest list. Sort out the seating plan and place cards. Further check your arrangements such as the wedding clothes and book a hair appointment. To be ultra efficient, time a dummy run to the church! Order holiday money. 1 WEEK TO GO.... Pack your holiday clothes and collect your money, passport and tickets. Double check everything! Hold the rehearsals for the ceremony and check the wedding service sheets have been delivered to the best man. Wear in your wedding shoes ay home, so you don't end up hobbling down the aisle! THE BIG DAY Ask your family and friends to organise your suitcases are sent to your firts night hotel; that your wedding dress and groom's suit are returned if need be, or at least have them packed and taken away which applies to wedding presents.
