FLORIST RECEIVES TELEFLORIST PLATINUM AWARD
Local florist, Petals of Dereham Road, has been crowned Teleflorsit UK Flower Shop of the Year 2007, receiving the prestigious Platinum Award for all round business excellence.
To win the award, Petals had to beat off tough competition from hundreds of florists around the UK and pass several gruelling rounds of assessment and judging.
The intensive selection process included assessments on floristry skills, business planning, training, store design and marketing. Additional assessments made use of exam style questionnaires, mystery shoppers and on site reviews.
As well as the Platinum Award, Petals received a £1,000 business development prize courtesy of Teleflorist, which can be used to further invest in the business.
Lee Appleyard, Head of Marketing at Teleflorist, explains the significance of the award ‘winning this award is an excellent achievement given the scale and the scope of the competition. Petals have shown that with excellent product knowledge, commitment and planning, a local store can meet the needs of the customer and succeed, despite the increasing commercial pressures from multiple retailers.
Petals are delighted with the award and plan to spend the money on direct marketing to both existing loyal customers and to target new customers in and around the area.
